This Mistfall Hunter tier list separates Solo and Trio play because self-sufficiency, team utility, and composition value change which classes have the strongest current case.

Placements are editorial assessments based on official balance changes, current mechanics, multiple independent meta sources, and current player observations. They are not official rankings or official win-rate results.

Mistfall Hunter Solo Tier List

Solo rankings emphasize mobility, escape potential, reliable one-on-one pressure, PvE clearing, and the ability to recover from a bad engagement without relying on teammates.

Solo S Tier

Shadowstrix

Solo Rank: S

Shadowstrix is the strongest defensible Solo S-tier candidate. Mobility, Stealth, burst pressure, chase, and disengage tools let an experienced player control engagements. The August 12 patch weakened parts of the kit, but it also included compensation adjustments rather than a simple blanket nerf.

Solo A Tier

Blackarrow

Solo Rank: A — provisional

Blackarrow still brings very strong ranged pressure, kiting, and control over open engagements. It was widely rated highly before the latest balance update, but that older status should not be copied forward automatically.

Blackarrow's current Solo A-tier placement is provisional because the August 12 update reduced its Solo PvP damage multiplier and changed several important cooldowns.

It previously had a strong case for Solo S Tier and could return there if post-patch evidence supports it.

Mercenary

Solo Rank: A

Mercenary is the safest beginner recommendation. Its balance of defense, mobility, melee pressure, and survivability makes the fundamentals forgiving, while Sword & Shield is especially useful when staying alive matters more than maximum finishing pressure.

Withered Knight

Solo Rank: A

Withered Knight's placement depends heavily on weapon path, matchup, and execution. Greatsword has the stronger Solo dueling case, while Polearm & Shield translates better to team play. The class is demanding, not objectively bad.

Sorcerer

Solo Rank: A

Sorcerer combines ranged burst, spell variety, and tools that punish melee approaches. Positioning errors are more dangerous without teammates, and the August 12 update reduced its Solo PvP damage multiplier while adjusting several skills.

Solo B Tier

Seer

Solo Rank: B overall

Reverent Seer loses much of its healing and team-support value when playing alone. Offensive or Blasphemer paths can perform better, so this placement does not mean every Seer setup is B tier.

Mistfall Hunter Trio Tier List

Trio rankings give more weight to sustained ranged pressure, healing, shielding, crowd control, frontline protection, and composition synergy. Specializations are listed where weapon path materially changes the team role.

Trio S Tier

Blackarrow

Trio Rank: S

Ranged pressure becomes more valuable when teammates create space. The August 12 PvP multiplier reduction was specifically for Solo, although the general cooldown changes still matter in Trio. The current evidence is not strong enough to remove Blackarrow from Trio S.

Sorcerer

Trio Rank: S

Teammates create safer casting windows, while area damage and crowd control scale better in team fights. Sorcerer remains one of the strongest current Trio candidates, with the August 12 adjustments included in this assessment rather than ignored.

Reverent Seer

Trio Rank: S

Reverent Seer makes the largest Solo-to-Trio jump. Healing, shielding, defensive utility, and the ability to keep teammates alive create S-tier team value without requiring the highest raw damage.

Trio A Tier

Sword & Shield Mercenary

A reliable defensive frontline that creates space and contributes dependable team utility, but lacks some of the chase and finishing ability of more aggressive options.

Dual Blades Shadowstrix

Still mechanically strong, but Shadowstrix's Solo-specific engagement control becomes relatively less unique when ranged pressure, healing, and team utility carry more weight.

Polearm & Shield Withered Knight

Its defensive and team utility fit Trio play better than Solo. It is a solid frontline and control option, currently below the strongest S-tier specialists.

Trio B Tier context

Hammer Mercenary, Greatsword Withered Knight, Dagger Shadowstrix, and Blasphemer Seer can all contribute, but their current team cases are either more composition-dependent or less complete than the A- and S-tier specializations above.

Why Solo and Trio Tier Lists Are Different

Solo rewards self-sufficiency

  • Mobility and escape potential
  • Reliable one-on-one pressure
  • PvE clearing and recovery
  • Surviving bad engagements alone

Trio rewards team value

  • Sustained ranged pressure
  • Healing, shielding, and crowd control
  • Frontline protection
  • Composition synergy

This is why Reverent Seer can rank near the bottom for Solo while becoming S Tier in a coordinated Trio.

Shadowstrix's ability to choose and escape engagements is disproportionately valuable when playing alone.

How the August 12 Patch Changed the Mistfall Hunter Meta

The official update changed important class tools, so older rankings cannot simply be reused as if the patch had not happened.

Blackarrow Changes

The update increased the Mysticfly Arrow and Steel Arrow cooldowns, slightly increased Dodge Power Shot's cooldown, substantially reduced Sonic Arrow's cooldown, and reduced Blackarrow's Solo PvP damage multiplier. Blackarrow's pre-patch Solo S-tier status should no longer be treated as settled.

Sorcerer Changes

Official adjustments affected Fire Elemental Reaction, Fire Bolt, Flameblade, Crystal Icebolt, Deep Freeze, Energy-related effects, Thunderstrike, and the Solo PvP damage multiplier. Sorcerer remains powerful, especially in team play, but older rankings should not simply be copied forward.

Shadowstrix Changes

Phantom Shift's cooldown increased, Battle Frenzy's Physical Piercing was reduced, and Spinning Slash's Super Armor duration was reduced. Inspiring Impale, Wound Accumulation, and Aftereffect received improvements. This was not a simple blanket nerf, so Shadowstrix should not automatically be dropped from the top Solo tier.

How We Rank Mistfall Hunter Classes

This is not an official tier list, and Mistfall Hunter does not currently publish a complete official class win-rate table that would allow every class to be ranked objectively from first to sixth.

Rankings use four evidence levels:

  1. Official balance changes and developer information
  2. Current class mechanics and mode differences
  3. Multiple independent current guide and meta sources
  4. Community and leaderboard observations as supporting evidence

Official information receives the greatest weight. When sources disagree, this page keeps the uncertainty visible instead of claiming certainty that the evidence does not support. The underlying class identities are cross-checked against our Mistfall Hunter classes overview.

This tier list should be treated as a current meta snapshot, not a permanent ranking.

Mistfall Hunter Tier List FAQ

What is the best class in Mistfall Hunter?

There is no universal best class. Shadowstrix has the strongest current Solo case, while Blackarrow, Sorcerer, and Reverent Seer have the strongest S-tier cases for coordinated Trios.

What is the best Solo class in Mistfall Hunter?

Shadowstrix is our current Solo S-tier pick because its mobility, Stealth, burst pressure, and disengage tools help it choose when fights begin and end. Blackarrow was previously a strong Solo S-tier candidate, but its Solo damage multiplier was reduced in the August 12 update.

What is the best class for beginners?

Mercenary is the safest beginner recommendation. It combines understandable melee fundamentals, survivability, mobility, and a forgiving Sword & Shield option.

Is Seer good in Mistfall Hunter?

Yes, but its value is highly mode-dependent. Reverent Seer is a strong Trio support because healing, shielding, and defensive utility scale with teammates. More offensive Seer paths can perform better alone, while Reverent is a weaker Solo recommendation.

Is Blackarrow still good after the August 12 nerf?

Yes. Its ranged pressure and kiting remain valuable, but the exact Solo position is uncertain after the Solo PvP multiplier reduction and cooldown changes. Our current placement is Solo A — provisional and Trio S.

Is Withered Knight bad?

No. Withered Knight is highly dependent on weapon path, matchup, and player execution. Greatsword has a stronger Solo dueling case, while Polearm & Shield translates better to coordinated team play.

What is the best Trio composition?

Blackarrow, Stardust Sorcerer, and Reverent Seer form one of the strongest currently defensible compositions: Blackarrow supplies ranged pressure, Sorcerer adds magic damage and team-fight control, and Reverent Seer provides healing and defensive utility. It is an editorial recommendation, not an official win-rate result.
